New listing: Yume Kitchen

I reckon this place would be a good bet for vegans, so I've added it to my list. Enjoy!

Update: The Folkhouse

I've just added an update to the Folkhouse Cafe - it was unfortunate that nothing was labelled, but the hummus was tasty!

Updates added

Hello! I've added some new updates to the listing for Bristol. Unfortunately, these are all fairly negative with places changing practice or shutting down - I've dated the changes I've made today so you can see what is new (I should do that in future as well really, shouldn't I).

New listing: Roll for the Soul

I've just put up a listing for Roll for the Soul (thanks to commenter Mickey O'Connor for the tip). It sounds like a lovely little bike cafe with a great vegan range, all in the centre of town. If you check it out, let me know what you thought!

New listings: Vegan elsewhere (Budapest, Prague, Istanbul, Romania)

As you might be able to tell, I have recently been on holiday. I've just added my two cents on vegan eating in Budapest, Prague, Istanbul and Romania. Some of the restaurants we went to really were excellent! Do have a look here.

Update: Tampopo

I've finally been to Tampopo! I've updated the section on this restaurant. The food was ace - do check it out!

New listing: Olive Shed

I added an entry for the Olive Shed, but completely forgot to tell you about it, so I'm doing it now - sorry! They sound pretty vegan friendly (their menu lists vegan things!), although as it is only a sample menu, there is a chance that there won't be any vegan food available on the day. I can appreciate why cafes and restaurants do this, but it is sort of annoying if you have certain dietary requirements by choice, or worse, an allergy.

Magic Roll: the saga continues

Greetings fellow foodies!

Not too long ago, I relegated Magic Roll to the gone but not forgotten section of the site, as it seemed to close and re-open every five minutes (below is what was on Vegan Brizzle as of October 2012). Well, the good news is that Magic Roll has re-opened properly! I've had two over the last week and they are glorious. A new entry will soon appear on the main site, so - for now at least - I have moved the old entry here.

The old entry for Magic Roll (up to December 2012):

As of 12th October 2012, I have no idea what is going on with this place. It has shut several times and re-opened but it looks like the Triangle premises have now been taken over by another restaurant. If you know what is going on with Magic Roll, let me know here!

Here is what I wrote about Magic Roll in the days before they closed and re-opened every week: I've been ruined forever when it comes to wraps - nothing tastes quite as good as these. There are lots of vegan fillings available including your standard salady type things (carrot, cabbage) and some wonderful roast veg, olives and falafels - the best thing, though, is their sweet chili sauce. At about a fiver, you can't go terribly wrong and the Clifton branch is open until 3am if you ever fancy a midnight snack! Annoyingly, though, their Redcliffe branch is happy to leave their sign out, fooling you in to thinking they're open when they're not. This is the kind of shop where they'll ask you exactly what you want anyway, so you can mix and match to taste, but be warned, not all staff know what vegan means, so don't just say 'vegan wrap please'. If you fancy something a bit lighter, you can make up a salad box in the same way.

New listing! Bristol Bakehouse and Spotless Leopard

Hello fellow foodies!

I've just added new listings for the Bristol Bakehouse (lovely vegan cupcakes) and the Spotless Leopard (a vegan van with some amazing looking grub). Both of these places are mobile, so I'd recommend following their Facebook pages to make sure you know where they are!
