Update: Friska

As Friska has had a refurb I thought I'd just write a whole new entry. I went to the one on the Clifton Triangle and the staff were lovely and the food was ace. As Arnie said, I'll be back!

I've just added some updates for The Guild, and Workhouse Cafe as I hadn't been to either for a very long time. I've developed a bit of a sweet tooth of late, and luckily both of these places have some great vegan cakey things at a good price. YUM!

New section: Gone but not forgotten

I've added a new section listing all the vegan-friendly places that have shut down. I guess it's useful in case these places pop up again, but more so to stop people spending ages looking for eateries that aren't here anymore!

Do YOU know what is going on with Magic Roll?

Magic Roll, one of the gems of The Triangle and favourite haunt of those coming home at 2am, appears to have shut for good.

This has been going on for a while now, with the restaurant closing and then re-opening a few times recently. It now appears that another business has taken over their premises on The Triangle which indicates that they are no more.

Does anyone have any information on this? Leave a comment below!

I visited Bravas on Saturday for my birthday. I'd been looking forward to it for weeks, and I was not disappointed! The food was amazing, with excellent service. Book yourself a table NOW!

New section! Potentially vegan

Hello fellow foodies! I've decided to add a new section to the bottom of the page of vegan-friendly places to eat in Bristol. It will contain places that I think could be vegan-friendly but am not currently sure about.

The entry that caused me to start this section is La Tomatina, a tapas place on College Green. They have no website and, as they are newly opened, no reviews that might tell us whether they cater for vegans or not. I went there myself for a quick coffee, but had no time to enquire about their food. I took some pictures of their menu, looked through it at home, and decided that several of the dishes were indeed likely to fit the bill.

I hope to be able to check all the restaurants/cafes placed in this section, and add them to the main section on the blog.

I've now been to Sahra and can report that it is a delicious and beautiful restaurant.
