When I first decided to go vegan, the thing that worried me most was finding places to eat when I was out with friends. In Bristol, at least, it turned out that this worry was unfounded, as there are actually loads of vegan friendly places to eat, so you'll be spoiled for choice (in fact, excluding shops, this website has over a hundred listings of places to eat).

For any places that have shut down, I've moved their entry here, in case they pop up again, and to make sure people know that they have shut down.
  1. Bacchus (59 Apsley Road, Whiteladies Road end) Closed as of October 2013. Now the vegan-friendly but early-closing Souk Kitchen
  2. Blue Juice (Cotham Hill) Closed around March 2014. Now the vegan-friendly Health Hub
  3. Budokan (Clifton Down) Closed about 2011 
  4. Cafe Rubicon (Chandos Road) and Rubicon Too (Cotham Hill) Not closed, just did not appear vegan-friendly at all last time I went there.
  5. De Muths (Bath) Closed some time in 2014 - really sad about this, but apparently they still have an amazing cookery school! Now the vegan-friendly Acorn Vegetarian Kitchen
  6. The H Bar (in Colston Hall) Noticed this had gone in early 2015
  7. La Tasca (Cabot Circus) No idea when this shut, maybe around 2010
  8. Mezza Bar (The Triangle, formerly St Michaels Hill - both branches shut) Closed around summer 2013 
  9. My Burrito (city centre) Closed as of March-ish 2015. Now Fuego, with staff who have a very limited understanding of 'vegan' and no properly labelled menus.
  10. The Porter (15 George Street, Bath BA1 2QS) Not closed but now barely even vegetarian-friendly.
  11. Sahra (Queens Road, near the Student Union) Closed as of October 2013 
  12. Swinky's Sweets (bottom of Park Street, on the right going up) Closed as of October 2013
