St Nicholas Market - and why you should go there!
There are a lot of good vegan places to eat in and around St Nics, but there are plenty of other reasons to come to this gem of a market. My dad used to take my brother and I here on Saturdays when we were younger, and it always felt like a bit of a magical place; a labyrinth of weird and wonderful stuff (and people!). One of the reaons I love this place so much is because it showcases loads of Bristol talent, from the people at Beast who make funny t-shirts, to the Nails Gallery, which features work from a myriad of local artists. It's a wonderful place to get an interesting birthday present, or just wander around.
Better still, if you go before September 7th, you can see this fella! He is one of 61 gorillas (around 50 are in Bristol) made to celebrate 175 years of Bristol Zoo Gardens, and I just love them! Have a look here to find a map and see how many you can spot - great for a free day out.
